Carpool Connections ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form).
Children's Information
To facilitate carpool matching, we collect information about your children, including their first names and their school or activity schedule (morning and afternoon pickup/dropoff days).
Verification Documents
To promote safety, we may collect copies of documents you voluntarily upload, such as a driver's license or proof of insurance. These are reviewed by our administrators solely for the purpose of verifying your identity and eligibility to drive.
School Affiliation
We collect your school or organization affiliation (verified via an access code) to connect you with families in the same community.
Communications
Messages sent between matched users within the app are stored to support the carpool coordination experience.
Home Address and Location
To calculate proximity and match you with nearby families, we collect your home or pickup address along with its precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). This information is stored securely and is only shared with families you mutually agree to connect with.
Phone Number
We may collect your phone number to facilitate direct communication between connected carpool families. This is shared only with families you have confirmed a carpool connection with.
